PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – There’s been no luck so far for investigators looking for answers involving last Friday morning’s fire at Tunnel Park. Four days after the blaze that destroyed the stairs leading to the beach along the Lake Michigan shoreline at the county park on Holland’s North Side, Sheriff’s detectives have yet to determine a cause, according to Captain Mark Bennett. Fireworks found at the scene are being examined at the Michigan State Police crime lab to determine if they were a factor in the incident. Tips to Silent Observer are welcome. County parks officials say that it could be at least a month before the steps, which were only installed four years ago, are rebuilt.
