HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Three Chicago residents in their 20’s have been arraigned on multiple felony counts related to the illegal possession of stolen or cloned credit cards stemming from a Tuesday evening arrest on Holland’s North Side.
In a Thursday afternoon arrignment at Holland District Court, 28-year-old Mary Marie Hayes, 24-year-old Terrance Steve Terrell and 23-year-old Cornell Lavan Peters were formally charged. Peters remains held in the Ottawa County Jail on 100 thousand dollars bond; no bond amount was immediately disclosed for Hayes and Terrell.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the Best Buy off of Westshore Drive around 8 p.m. While the deputies were en route, all three suspects fled the store and headed southbound on U.S. 31 in a white 2014 Dodge Charger. Responding deputies located the vehicle and stopped it. According to Captain Mark Bennett with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects one female and two males are from Chicago. They were in possession of numerous stolen credit cards that through further investigation turned out to be electronically altered or cloned. The vehicle also contained property from other stores from the west coast of Michigan from here to Chicago. A dollar value to this criminal fraud incident wasn’t immediately available.
Preliminary hearing dates for the three accused were reportedly pending.
