HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A new advocate group is pushing to open Holland’s first LGBT resource center.
Two LGBT advocate organizations based in Holland – Holland is Ready and Holland Area Pride – came together to form a new group: Out on the Lakeshore. The new collaboration hopes to combine its resources to form a new resource center for Holland’s LGBT community.
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) – a nationally based LGBT advocate organization – will also be involved with the new collaboration, but will continue to maintain its own identity.
The decision to merge comes after the leaders of each organization realized they were both working towards the same goals and raising money from the same demographics.
