UNDATED (WHTC) – Two Zeeland motorcyclists were hurt in separate incidents involving deer at opposite ends of Ottawa County. Robert Merren suffered bumps and bruises after the 6a-year-old biker struck an animal on Adams Street near 104th Avenue just east of Holland. Joshua Stone was treated for minor injuries at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital after the 33-year-old motorcyclist hit a deer on eastbound Chicago Drive near 12th Avenue in Jenison. The two mishaps occurred in a half-hour span just before dawn. Both men were helmeted. Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies advise motorists about deer activity around dawn and before dusk, even though the rut isn’t for several months.
