HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland City Manager Ryan Cotten has outlined a planning and design process for the future of the Civic Center which will address the Farmers Market.
Cotton has proposed inviting interested firms to submit a Request for Qualification to be part of a design team to develop a plan for the Civic Center.
An 11-million dollar conceptual plan to turn the main parking area into park space has received near-unanimous opposition from Farmers Market vendors, who say lost parking will result in lost business.
A decision on appointing a design team is expected in late September and it could be early next year before a plan for the center’s future is voted on by council.
