FRUITPORT, MI (WHTC) – A 24-year-old woman is facing alcohol-related charges after crashing her vehicle into a tree.
According to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the woman whois a resident of Fruitport, was speeding southbound on 144th Avenue near State Road just after 12:45 a.m. Sunday. The driver lost control and struck a tree.
Paramedics treated her at the scene and she was then transported in stable condition to North Ottawa Community Hospital for additional treatment. She was released from the hospital and is being lodged in the Ottawa County jail.
Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash. Authorities have not released her name, pending arraignment.
