LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state DNR says that many portions of Michigan have a high or very high fire danger risk, mostly due to recent warm temperatures and a lack of significant rainfall, and that risk should continue through the weekend. DNR Fire Prevention Specialist Dan Laux observed that fire activity has increased in the past few days, with more responses to wildfires. The National Weather Service says that an elevated fire danger for the Lakeshore may be alleviated by storms that begin on Sunday.
