SPRING LAKE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 25, 2022) – A 58-year-old Nunica woman was injured in a Tuesday night collision involving a sedan and a semi east of Spring Lake.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, deputies and first responders were dispatched to State Road west of 148th Avenue shortly after 7 PM. “Our investigation at the scene determined that a semi, driven by a 27-year-old man from Coopersville, was backing an unloaded flatbed trailer into a private drive on the south side of the roadway,” Hallmeyer said in a department statement. “A silver four-door sedan, driven by the woman, was eastbound and collided with the trailer, which was blocking the eastbound lane of State Road.”
The woman sustained “life-threatening injuries,” according to Hallmeyer, and was taken to Mercy Health in Muskegon for treatment, while the truck driver was not hurt. State Road was closed for several hours as a result of the collision, which remains under investigation.
