8/10 Monday: Team Trivia Mondays at the Curragh- Team Trivia of Michigan is the premiere entertainment company in Michigan, providing quality, nightly fun for everyone. If you can think, walk, and write (you don’t have to do it all at the same time), then you are qualified to play. Whether you’re a TV-buff, a History major, the guy who knows everything about sports, or the one who can remember lines from every movie they’ve seen… Team Trivia is right for you. 8/11 Tuesday: Ice Cream Family Ride- at Velo City Cycles- A family-friendly 4 mile ride — all ages, all levels welcome. 8/12 Wednesday: Auto Body Xperts Holland Open House- A community event at Holland Auto Body Xperts. They’ll have a pig roast, games for kids and prizes to win as a thank you to the community. 216 North 120th Avenue, Holland; 11:00 am 2:00 pm; Free.
8/13 Thursday: Meteors and S’mores at Holland State Park- Make s’mores, learn about the Perseid Meteor Shower, and look at the night sky through telescopes. Meet at the North End Community Fire Pits. 2215 Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland; 9-11:00 pm; Recreation Passport Required (can be purchased at the State Park entrance).
8/14 Friday: Ben Daniels Band at New Holland Brewing Company Restaurant & Pub- When Ben Daniels decided he was going to be a musician, it was more than a career choice. A natural poet, this young songwriter went to school on Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, and Jack White, among others. His lyrics speak directly to a younger generation that hears, sees, and thinks about the very things he’s writing. From their opening song to the finale of their set, the Ben Daniels Band cuts through with their originality, musicianship, and a sound that spans Americana, Blues, Jazz, and Rock. 66 East Eighth Street, Holland; 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM; No Cover.
8/15 Saturday: Salsa Showdown at the Holland Farmers Market- Participants are challenged to create a prize-winning salsa using fresh Market ingredients. Hot? Mild? Inferno? Do you have the best salsa in the West (Michigan)? Then bring it on! During the Salsa Showdown, you’ll be challenged to create the best salsa recipe using ingredients from the Market. Everyone is invited to compete, from amateur cooks to professional chefs. Don’t miss this opportunity for mouth-watering salsa tasting and lots of fiery fun! The public is invited to come and taste all the salsas with an unlimited supply of chips, and vote for their favorite for just $3. Tasting is from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
8/16 Sunday: Fauxgrass Concert at Camp Blodgett- Join us this summer on the deck of the Loeks Retreat Center at Camp Blodgett for our 2015 Acoustic Sunset Series.
