GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – For the second day in a row and just the eighth time since 2012, the Lakeshore will be under an Air Quality Alert on Monday, as issued by the Michigan Department of Enviornmental Quality.
Weather conditions are predicted to continue being conducive for elevated levels of ozone, and pollutants are expected to be in the unhealthy range for sensative groups. Click on the link to see precautions from the DEQ. A break in the weather isn’t forecast until Tuesday.
Rides on fixed bus routes by the Macatawa Area Express will be free all day on Monday, as they are on every Air Quality Alert day. Agency officials say that this is meant to help cut down on vehicular traffic in the Holland, Zeeland and Holland Township areas that MAX Transit serves.
