GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – The defense is expected to begin presenting its case in the Victor Donaldson open murder jury trial tomorrow morning. Donaldson was 16 when he stabbed 18-year-old Ja’Paris Rodgers to death during a fight along Riley Street on Holland’s North Side nearly 13 months ago. The prosecution put forward evidence with testimony last week that this was a premeditated, gang-related action; Donaldson’s attorney is claiming that it was an act of self-defense. The jury should get the case later this week, according to court observers.
