HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 24, 2022) – The Holland City Council is holding a special Monday evening work study session, focusing solely on one subject.
After the governing panel last Wednesday scheduled a February 2nd public hearing for discussion on LG Energy Solution’s Renaissance Zone request for its lithium-ion plant off of 48th Street, this evening’s session will, according to City Manager Keith Van Beek in his briefing to council, “build upon the information provided to City Council when setting the public hearing. We plan to have several attendees at the study session to present more information and be available to answer questions.”
Those attendees include Lakeshore Advantage President Jennifer Owens and Holland BPW General Manager Dave Koster.
LG wants to revise the initial Renaissance Zone agreement made 12 years ago to take advantage of a new state economic development package that would allow it to move forward on a “Phase 2” expansion of that facility. The city needs to sign off on the new pact ahead of a possible February 22nd state Strategic Fund vote on the proposal.
The work study session is set for 6 PM at Holland City Hall, with a link to the agenda and relevant documents here.
