GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Deliberation in the open murder trial of Victor Donaldson for a seven-woman, five-man Ottawa County Circuit Court Jury resumes on Wednesday morning. The panel huddled behind closed doors for several hours after getting the case from Judge Ed Post late on Tuesday morning. Donaldson was 16 when he stabbed 18-year-old Ja’Paris Rodgers to death during a fight among two groups of teens off of Riley Street on Holland’s North Side nearly 13 months ago. Prosecutors claim that it was a deliberate, gang-related action; the defense counters that it was an act of self-defense.
