HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners met last night and accepted a bid from Bultsma Construction to replace the stairs at Tunnel Park that were burned in a suspicious fire July 3.
Investigators were unable to determine what started the blaze even though fireworks were found at the scene.
Bultsma Construction will replace the stairs and renovate parts of the lookout area at the dune’s summit. The county will pay $54,377 and $30,000 of that bid will be paid for by the county’s insurance and the rest will come from the parks and recreation department.
