GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Firefighters responded to Gerald R. Ford International Airport late last night for a fire in the parking garage.
7 vehicles were involved on the second level of the airport’s parking garage which forced a temporary closure of the entire structure. Two vehicles are a total loss and five others were damaged in the fire.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 9:30 p.m. and the garage opened after 10 p.m.
Airport officials say at least one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause is not yet known.
