SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 24, 2022) – Five topics highlight Monday’s scheduled business meeting of the Saugatuck City Council.
The rate for use of the 10 24-foot boat slips at Wicks Park may jump by $300 for 2022 to $2,000 for non-residents and $1,800 for residents. This would be twice the amount charged for such slips for non-residents as recently as 2017, and $800 more for residents from five years ago.
Council is expected to approve a two-year extension of the Chain Ferry Agreement with Star of Saugatuck, based on several planned capital improvements. The current deal runs through 2024.
Also under consideration are recommended adjustments to the city’s Pop-Up Patios permit policy, approval of two new small cell towers that Verizon wishes to install on existing utility poles on Francis and Spear streets, and an increase of the city’s contribution to the Blue Star Trail Project from $10,000 to $50,000.
Monday’s business meeting of the Saugatuck City Council will be in the second floor meeting room of City Hall at 7 PM. A link to the agenda is here.
