GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – As more Syrian refugees are feeling to Europe from the violence in the Middle Eastern nation, the agency Bethany Christian Services is seeking to have more of the refugees brought to West Michigan.
The organization’s program manager Kristine Van Noord estimates between 50 and 150 refugees will be brought to the area. Right now only 15-hundred of the four-million who have left Syria so far have been brought to the United States.
Van Noords says they have helped 27 of the 34 Syrian refugees who have been brought to the area so far and that they are ready for more.
