TALLMADGE TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 16-year-old girl was struck by a car at 48th Avenue and Leverette in Tallmadge Township yesterday evening.
The driver of the car, Daniel Hermance, 42, of Muskegon was traveling north on 48th Avenue when he attempted to pass a pedestrian who was walking northbound. As he passed Nyuwei Ni, 16, of Coppersville, she was hit by his mirror.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, both the driver of the car and a witness to the crash said that the pedestrian was walking with the traffic approximately two to four feet in the roadway. it was also noted that she had earphones in her ear.
The pedestrian sustained minor injuries to her arm and was transported to Devos Children’s Hospital.
