HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The annual America in Bloom Symposium and Awards Program is underway in Holland, as the Tulip City welcomes the nationwide urban beautification awareness initiative that it has won consistently over the five years that it has competed. Attendees will be hearing from a number of speakers today, along with taking tours of Windmill Island and downtown Holland, and the awards ceremony is tomorrow night at the Doubletree. Holland and the downriver Detroit community of Woodhaven are the only Michigan cities listed as participating in the America in Bloom competition this year, with the Tulip City vying in its population category with Arroyo Grande, California, Estes Parks, Colorado and Washington, Missouri.
