GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) – There is an open house from 12 Noon to 4 PM on Saturday at the Grand Ravines South county park off of Fillmore Street and 42nd Avenue, south of the GVSU campus, to unveil a new 21-acre off-leash dog park. There will be a number of activities and events scheduled, including microchipping, pet portraits, dog training, pet adoptions and exhibitions by the sheriff’s canine unit. The dog park will have separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, as well as fenced trails for off-leash walking, and there are no entry or membership fees involved. Parks department officials say that fundraising for various amenities at the site is still ongoing through inscribed bricks in the entry way.
