9/28 Monday: Team Trivia Mondays at the Curragh- Team Trivia of Michigan is the premiere entertainment company in Michigan, providing quality, nightly fun for everyone. If you can think, walk, and write (you don’t have to do it all at the same time), then you are qualified to play. A plethora of categories gives all team members their strong subject and ensures the useless knowledge stored away will finally be put to good use. What does matter is that everyone has fun! Curragh prizes are usually, $30 gift certificates for first place, $20 gift certificates for second and $10 gift certificates for third. Team size does not matter. 73 East 8th Street, Holland. 7-9pm. 9/29 Tuesday: Rocktoberfest – Feast for Families at New Holland Brewing Company- A harvest dinner at New Holland’s Pub on 8th to benefit Feeding America. The dinner features several renown Chefs of our region. They have been challenged to take inspiration from the rock and roll song or artist of their choice, and create a dish featuring locally harvested ingredients that represents their tasty homage. Each course will be paired with either a beer or cocktail by our featured beverage and pairing experts. 6:30pm – Reception Cocktail & Snacks 7:00pm – 5 Course Dinner 8:00pm – Silent Auction Live music featuring The Shrock Brothers! 9/30 Wednesday: Past Present East West: Highlights from the Permanent Collection at Hope College – Kruizenga Art Museum- “Past Present East West: Highlights from the Permanent Collection” is evenly split between art from Europe and the Americas and art from Asia. The objects in the exhibition have been selected to demonstrate the breadth and educational value of the collection. Most of the artworks have been acquired by Hope in the last five years. 271 Columbia Ave., Holland. 10am-4pm. Free.
10/1 Thursday: School Nurse 5K Run/Walk at Holland High School Performing Arts Center- The event is a fun, family-oriented, non-competitive run/walk designed to encourage students to become more active through exercise and physical fitness. Students who participate in a training program (simply record ten- 30 minute exercise session) enter the 5K Run/Walk for FREE! 600 Van Raalte Ave., Holland. 6-9pm.
10/2 Friday: Zeeland Pumpkinfest- Welcome to Pumpkinfest in Zeeland, Michigan – Celebrating community, family fun, and fall activities for over 30 years! The theme for 2015 is “Pumpkinfest Goes WILD!” Pumpkinfest is a two-day event that features a number of free and low-cost events that can be enjoyed by all ages. 149 East Main Street, Zeeland.
10/3 Saturday: Death of a Salesman at the Holland Civic Theatre- Death of a Salesman is the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning story of Willy Looman, a man experiencing regret in his life over an unsuccessful sales career. Willy has dreamed of success his whole life and, unable to reconcile the truth, fabricates his and his son’s success.
