GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC) – Spectrum Health and Holland Hospital have made official what had been speculated last month in that a new joint medical care center will be built near the junction of US-31 and Robbins Road south of Grand Haven. Pending site plan approval by Grand Haven Township next month, the Health Pointe facility is slated for a 2017 opening, and would provide primary care, urgent care, radiology and laboratory services, and specialty physician services. North Ottawa Community Hospital officials are reportedly upset, saying that it duplicates medical services that they already provide to the area. It is a complaint similar to one filed by Spectrum Health-Zeeland Community Hospital when Holland Hospital opened its urgent care building off of 84th Avenue in the shadow of ZCH last year.
