Noelia Garcia, age 73, of Holland, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Known by Nellie to her family and friends, she was born in Mercedes, Texas on January 8, 1949, to Joseph and Lela Puente. Nellie grew up in Holland and dedicated her life’s work at Baker Furniture in the finishing department. She was the firstborn of twelve siblings. Preceded in death by her father Joseph G. Puente Sr. and brother, Joseph C. Puente Jr. Surviving sisters; Lupe (Wally) Palomo, Mari (Brian) Bontekoe, Luci (Malcolm) Miller, Raquel Carie, Frances Puente, Paula (John) Newhouse, and Maggie (Mark) Campbell. Surviving brothers; Albert (Lori) Puente, Robert Puente, Michael (Christina) Puente, and many nieces and nephews.
Nellie was preceded in death by her first husband Pedro Rodriguez of Donna, Texas. Surviving are three sons; Peter Rodriguez, Raul (Juanita) Rodriguez and Aaron (Christina) Rodriguez, grandchildren Javier, Samantha, Gina, James, Janell, Joseph, Michael, Jacob, Serena, and Felix Rodriguez. Great-grandchildren Lily, Jazelle, Cameron, Elijah, Lily, Jayden. Also, surviving is her second husband of 31 years Jose R. Garcia of Grand Rapids.
Nellie found much happiness in baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales church and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was honest, fun-loving and a hard worker. She could always be counted on to help in any way that she could.
