ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) – Grand Valley State officials say that there were no information compromises immediately reported after hackers attempted to get into the school’s Banner Self-Service System over the weekend. More than 21 thousand student and employee accounts were locked as a precaution when the attack on the Lakers’ core function system, including human resources, registration, recruitment and financial information began on Saturday. The automatic locking kept the hackers out, and detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the cyberattack.
