HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Parents are facing delays in Ottawa County when they choose to opt out of vaccines for their children.
The Ottawa County Health Department has issued an eight-day waiting period because they have had an influx of waiver requests at the start of the school year.
State law requires parents to meet with the health department before obtaining a waiver. Some districts will not allow students in class without the paperwork being signed.
It’s resulted in some kids missing up to a week of class.
