HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland Department of Public Safety Fire Personnel were dispatched to Challenge Machine at 1401 Washington Avenue in Holland for a fire on the roof late Monday evening.
The fire was on the roof near a sky light and firefighters contained the fire within minutes. Complete extinguishment took an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
Damage was limited to the roof area. The cause of the fire was a result of sparks created by process equipment inside the facility which ignited combustible framing around a sky light.
There were no injuries to employees for fire personnel that responded to the call. Production in the facility resumed shortly after extinguishment.
HDPS was assisted by the Graafschap Fire Department, AMR and HDPS Police Service Personnel. Further assistance was provided by the Holland Township Fire Department for a medical incident that occurred while units were committed at Challenge.
