ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – A 31 thousand-dollar-plus US Department of Agriculture grant will allow the Allegan Farmers Market to offer free transportation the next two years.
Residents living within a 10-mile radius of the market at the corner of Water and Cutler Streets in downtown Allegan can contact Allegan County Transportation to make arrangements. The grant will also allow the free ride service to have regular stops with local apartment complexes.
Allegan is one of eight farmers markets statewide receiving a federal Agriculture Marketing Services Farmers Market Promotion Program grant.
