ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC) – A non-motorized pathway that will run alongside the soon-to-be-opened M-231 that connects Robinson Township with Nunica was dedicated in honor of Ottawa County’s first Medal of Honor recipient. Sergeant Henry Plant served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was cited for his patriotism during the 1865 Battle of Bentonville. Four Medal of Honor winners who called Holland home were honored four years ago by having their names on signs along US-31 from Saugatuck to Grand Haven. The M-231 highway that crosses the Grand River should open later this month.
