HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 19-year-old Holland Township woman was killed late on Saturday afternoon while apparently attempting to cross US-31 at 8th Street just east of Holland. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies, Moriah Wright was walking westbound across the northbound lanes shortly after 4 PM when she was struck by a northbound vehicle that was going on a green light. The victim died at the scene, and the intersection was blocked off for more than two hours while accident re-creation teams investigated the incident. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Carmen Ramirez-Dy, also of Holland Township, was not injured. The case remains open, and tips to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer are welcome.
