ZEELAND (WHTC) – Darius Perisee ran for three touchdowns and Tyler Thompson added two more during a 48-point first half explosion Friday as Zeeland West raced past Benton Harbor, 62-8, in high school football playoff action. The Dux, now 11-0, will meet O-K Green Conference rival Hudsonville Unity Christian, which got a late field goal to edge Grand Rapids Catholic Central, 23-21, in a regional final next Friday at Zeeland Stadium. The news was not as good for either Zeeland East or Saugatuck, as both were eliminated from playoff competition. The Chix were shut out by East Grand Rapids, 31-0, to end their season at 7-4. Meanwhile, Pewamo-Westphalia scored two late touchdowns to defeat the Indians, 38-28, dealing Saugatuck its first loss of the season after 10 straight victories.
