GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – The attorney for convicted murderer Victor Donaldson has petitioned the Ottawa County Circuit Court for a new trial, claiming that the jury’s verdict was tainted by one juror bringing an online printout into the deliberation room in violation of court regulations. The six-page printout was found in one of the juror books, but none of the 14 panelists involved in the trial admitted bringing the paperwork in. Donaldson was found guilty of stabbing Ja’Paris Rodgers to death along Riley Street on Holland’s North Side more than 15 months ago. Sentencing has been delayed as a result of the printout investigation. A November 20th hearing is scheduled on this petition.
