HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Nathan Bocks has applied for Holland City Council’s open seat for an at-large seat. Bocks told WHTC morning news anchor MaryEllen Murphy he applied for the job last Wednesday.
The civic center steering committee member has served four years on the Tulip Time festival board but has never held elective office.
Bocks told WHTC he wants to be a facilitator.
“I’ve had great sucess in working with people from a lot of different aspects of the community,” Bocks said. “I think those relationships I’ve had over the years will really be helpful in helping the city move forward.”
The city is taking applications until 5 p.m. on November 23. The appointee will serve until November 20-17.
Bocks will be interviewed publicly at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30.
