UNDATED (WHTC) – The health departments in both Allegan and Ottawa counties issued Community Health Improvement Plans over the weekend, with the goal of increasing awareness of needs and establishing priorities in funding. Some of the goals that both counties agree on is improving access to health care, increasing recognition and treatment of mental health conditions, promoting consistently healthy behavior messages while decreasing barriers to healthy living, and developing more affordable and stable housing, food and educational opportunities.
