JAMESTOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 55-year-old man from Byron Center was pronounced dead at the scene when his vehicle rolled over in Jamestown Township yesterday evening.
Matthew Stasny was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6 eastbound on Byron Road east of 8th Avenue when the vehicle crossed the center line and drove off the roadway to the left, striking a berm.
According to Sgt. Steve Austin with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle flippedand rolled onto it’s top. Stasny was pinned into the vehicle and extricated by Jamestown Fire Rescue. No other occupants were in the vehicle. The driver was wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
