Rev. Matthew J. Warfield Jr. passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
From the moment Matthew appeared on life’s stage his smile could melt ice. His faith was cultivated in his home with his parents and his adoring siblings who brought him to Maple Avenue RCA and CRC at a young age. He loved with zeal and depth evident in his commitment to his beloved Lakers, his “Boyship” who kept him grounded, several nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and everyone who was blessed to be swept up in his embrace. Today he stands in the presence of his Lord, his “only comfort in Life and Death.”
He is survived by his parents, Matthew Sr. and Rita Warfield; siblings, Matthew Devere Warfield, Artesia Warfield, Rakendra (Gregory) Davis, Reneisha (Darnelle) Powell, Samantha (Christopher) Kirk; God-siblings, Talisha Smith, Carissa (Eddie) Hardy, Eboni (Christopher) Slater; and 16 nieces and nephews.
