ST. JOSEPH, MI (WHTC) – A 13-year-old student at Upton Middle School in St. Joseph is facing a misdemeanor charge.
The charge is for a racially charged chat among seven white students on the smartphone app Kik. Berrien County Prosecutor Mike Sepic is only charging one student who invited a black classmate into the conversation.
Sepic said the conversation was filled with “loathsome and despicable racial comments.”
