SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – Weather permitting, Saugatuck City Manager Kirk Harrier is recommending to City Council that they review and authorize a draft of a Tri-Community Master Plan that was drawn in conjunction with leaders from Douglas and Saugatuck Township, along with “asserting the right” to adopt the plan in place of the city’s Planning Commission. This proposal aims to give direction to the use, development and preservations of all lands in the area. Both Douglas and Saugatuck Township approved the draft earlier this month, with the final plan slated for implementation by March 21st.
