GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Van Allsburg has appointed Lansing-based attorney Thomas Woods as receiver to handle the liquidation of the assets of Kandu Industries. The non-profit company had trained and employed developmentally disabled adults until ceasing operations on September 30th. Kandu officials cited Medicaid funding cuts from the Ottawa County Department of Community Mental Health as a reason for their financial distress, with Sheriff’s detectives called in to look over the company’s books. US Bank has taken Kandu to court over non-payment of loans.
