Eugene “Gene” Bandlow

Gene Bandlow, or “Mean Gene” was a man who would drop anything and everything to help a person in need. Gene was the absolute life of the party and had a smile that would light up any room.

Anyone that really knew Gene, knew how crazy he was and loved his bright eyes and a happy smile. Gene was adventurous, and “normal’ was not any fun. He loved all types of music, going to Friday night races and hockey games with his family. He was also a huge supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He attended New Life Church in Wayland and he was employed by The Rapid for 21 years.

He is survived by: his wife, Kristi Bandlow; stepsons, Levi and Miranda Grant, Austin and Julia Grant, Derrick Grant and the most amazing stepdaughter, Heather Grant, Mother; Carol and Mike Hoffman, Father; Bruce Bandlow; Mother in law and Father in law, Mary Ann and Jerry Smith, Brother; James and Liz Bandlow (Ryan) and Sister; Karen and Jason Veldkamp.

Life will never be the same again with him not here on earth…..until we meet again “Mean Gene” There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 am at New Life Church, 160 Pine Street, Wayland, MI 49348 officiated by Brad Vanderson.

~ In lieu of flowers, Gene would be so proud to know that all of our friends and family would carry on with his desire to support Heather as she pursues her education.
