HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Veterans Day is over, but the effort to support veterans is a year-round activity for Holland’s VFW Post 2144, according to Commander Mike Martin. He told WHTC Post 2144 officials are actively seeking Afghanistan and Iraq-era veterans.
“It’s their turn,” he said, noting that the Post is seeing younger members, some taking leadership roles. “They’re coming in, stepping up. We’re trying to make them feel as welcome as we can.” Listen to his full WHTC interview: https://omny.fm/shows/talk-of-the-town/vfw-commander-mike-martin-11-01-21
In addition to helping vets get deserved services and benefits, Post 2144 membership offers fellowship and plenty of activities, including a military ball set for Saturday and the open-to-the-public Friday night dinners.
Proceeds from the dinners support Post 2144 activities.
