HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A three-vehicle crash sent a 26-year-old West Olive woman to Spectrum Health Butterworth in serious condition, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wilfong.
The crash, on southbound US 31 near Van Buren Street, happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021.
Wildfong indicated the West Olive woman had been driving a Honda CRV north on US31 when her car crossed the center line, going into the southbound lanes and hitting a semi-tractor trailer head on. She was pinned in her vehicle by the force of the crash, and extricated by Olive Township firefighters and taken by Aeromed to Spectrum Health Butterworth.
The semi-tractor trailer’s driver, a 65-year-old Mecosta man was physically unhurt in the crash as was the 59-year-old Grand Haven man driving a motorhome, which got caught up in the wreck, though they were not wearing seatbelts, according to Wildfong.
The crash remains under investigation.
