Luella Jean Ballou, 80, of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Douglas Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Douglas, Michigan after a brave battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born January 15, 1941, in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jessie (Cunningham) Walker and wife of the late Herman Glenn “Bud” Ballou. Jean, as she liked to be called, worked for Donnelly Mirrors in Holland, Michigan for about 5 years after raising their three children. She was one of the first members of the Community Church of Douglas and enjoyed meeting with her Bible Study friends and helping with church luncheons. Jean and Bud took many trips, driving up to northern Michigan or out to the western states. Her best times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beautiful lady who valued her family and made sure they knew just how much she loved them. Memories made will continue in their hearts and bring smiles to their faces every time they recall their special times together.
Luella is survived by her children, Deborah (Dale) Andrews, Douglas (Tammy) Ballou, and David (Joan) Ballou; six grandchildren, Jessica Andrews, Ian Andrews, Sean Andrews, Haley Ballou, Ben Ballou, and Corey Ballou.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Walker.
Per Luella’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she and her husband will be laid to rest in Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
