HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a crash between a 2010 Freightliner and a Ford SUV on Friday morning.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of M-104 and M-231 in Crockery Township at 10 a.m., Oct. 15, 2021, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill. Investigators learned a 28-year-old Holland man driving a 2010 Freightliner straight truck west on M-104 failed to stop for a red light at M-231.
The Freightliner hit a Ford SUV wit a A 40-year-old Muskegon man at the wheel, who had been headed south on M-231, and crossed the intersection under a green traffic signal.
The force of the crash tipped the Freightliner onto its side, blocking both westbound lanes of M-104.
The Freightliner’s driver went by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital. The Muskegon went by ambulance to a Muskegon-area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The westbound lanes of M-104 remained closed until wrecker crews could clear the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by Sheriff’s officials.
