DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Niko Goodrum is still upset about Jose Abreu’s late slide into second that cleared the benches in the Detroit Tigers loss to the Chicago White Sox Monday.
Abreu slid hard into Goodrum during the game after being hit by a pitch. Goodrum says that he takes issue when players get mad and try to hurt someone else, noting that Ruben Tejada and Tsuyoshi Nishioka both broke their legs on hard slides into second base in 2015 and 2011, respectively.
Goodrum is up for arbitration at the end of the season.
