GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 68-year-old Zeeland woman was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Jenison on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 21, 2021).
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, deputies and first responders were dispatched to Baldwin Street and Baldwin Woods Drive, between 12th and 20th avenues, around 4 PM on a report of a two-vehicle crash. “Our investigation on scene determined a UPS delivery truck, driven by a 31-year-old man from Kentwood, had been eastbound on Baldwin Street, turning left (northbound) onto Baldwin Woods Drive,” Hallmeyer said in a department statement. “He turned into the path of a westbound Chrysler sedan, driven by the woman from Zeeland. The UPS driver was wearing a seatbelt, and seatbelt use by the woman is unknown. She was transported to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.”
Baldwin Street was closed for several hours in that stretch during the investigation, which remains ongoing. No names were disclosed.
