HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an incident reported Sunday afternoon at the Grand Haven Township Walmart, 14700 US 31. The family of an 8-year-old girl said a man grabbed the girl’s arm, and the mom pulled the girl away from him.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-10 tall, thin, last seen wearing a black ball cap, surgical face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
Police are reviewing surveillance video and looking anyone who witnessed this incident, which family members told police happened at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021.
This report follows an incident near the intersection of Burke and 136th avenues reported just after 8:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.
In that case, a 9-year-old boy reported he’d been approached by a man in a vehicle. The boy got into the car with the man, and told police they went a short distance and the boy got out of the car near the intersection of River Avenue and Lakewood Boulevard. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are working with area businesses as well as school officials. The child was not physically injured, according to police.
