Herman Glenn “Bud” Ballou, 85, of Fennville, MI passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Born December 29, 1935, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Herman Walter and Edith Kate (Hiorns) Ballou and was the husband of Luella Jean (Walker) Ballou. Bud had worked for General Electric for thirty-five years as an engineer. He and his wife were amongst the first members of the Community Church of Douglas. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He also belonged to the Allegan Pistol Club, served on the Glenn School Board, and was an assistant Boy Scout leader. Bud enjoyed being with his family and was always available to help fix anything for anyone.
In addition to his wife, Luella, of sixty-four years, Mr. Ballou is survived by his children, Deborah (Dale) Andrews, Douglas (Tammy) Ballou, and David (Joan) Ballou; siblings, Earl (Sandy) Ballou and Delores Knittel; and six grandchildren, Jessica Andrews, Ian Andrews, Sean Andrews, Haley Ballou, Ben Ballou, and Corey Ballou.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
