LANSING, ALLEGAN MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A joint investigation into medical insurance fraud has netted charges against a Plainwell woman.
The state Department of Insurance and Financial Services, and the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, conducted the investigation, resulting in four counts of insurance fraud against Lorie Bevins.
Bevins is alleged to have submitted four claims totaling almost 47 thousand dollars to AFLAC, regarding appointments that were cancelled or not attended.
Each felony count is punishable by up to four years in prison.
Her preliminary exam is set for Sept. 7th.
