ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Investigators are looking for those involved in a shooting at an off-campus party just west of the Grand Valley State University campus in Allendale on Saturday (Aug. 28, 2021) morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, deputies were dispatched to the 48 West apartment complex, off of 48th Avenue south of Lake Michigan Drive (M-45), shortly after 1 AM to assist the private firm Absolute Security in breaking up “a large party.”
“While en route, deputies were informed that shots had been fired in the vicinity of building M,” Hallmeyer said in a department statement. “Upon arrival, they located several shell casings in the parking lot area in front of that building. No injuries or property damage have been report, and suspect information is unknown at this time (2:23 AM when the statement was released).”
