HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 64-year-old Jamestown Township man died Friday in a tree trimming incident, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Steigenga.
Police were called to a home on the 4500 block of Stable Drive in Jamestown Township just before noon, Aug. 20, 2021, on the report of a medical emergency. They learned the man had tried removing a large tree limb from a tree in his backyard.
But, the branch broke falling on the man. Despite extensive life-saving measures, the man died.
Steigenga noted Ottawa County Sheriff’s officials reminds people to use caution when doing tree work, as it can be unpredictable.
